Is Print Media Dead?

Is Print Media Dead?

Many Sellers who are from the baby boomer generation have asked why not post my home on an ad in the paper. The truth of the matter is few people scribe to or read the state newspapers that are in the market for homes. In 2013 I joined the real estate business and began to follow the lead of senior agents in my office. I quickly placed myself in magazines and the paper. Soon after Russell and Jeffcoat one of the biggest Real Estate companies in Columbia SC stopped placing ads in The State Newspaper. As a result the company turned the entire format to digital marketing! Wow, as a millennial I understand the important of digital presence as this is the biggest form of communication amongst my generation. When I began to go on listing presentations I found that when I explained my skill set and the marketing I used to get homes sold that many Sellers did not care! They trusted me as their REALTOR to get the job done.

After spending hundreds of dollars on print ads in magazines and in the newspaper I went totally digital. The only print materials that I provided were to the public and other realtors in the form of a flyer for a current listing or an open house I was hosting. To be honest I have never had a buyer or seller tell me that they found me and were drawn to my services through print media.  I’ve been the sales and marketing manager for a local builder and found that even when spending thousands of dollars on print ads that I did not see a return on the investment. I know that there are some exceptions, but for the most part, the bang for the buck is not here.

In my experience, homes in this market are sold by utilizing the internet combined with the local network of REALTORS. These days, most Buyers (local or out of town) look for homes on the internet. The best part about connecting with a REALTOR early on is that we know about the listings a few days before the public! There is a lag in the time that a Realtor begins to talk to a Seller, gets the listing agreement and the date that this goes live. I know I have a systematic way of posting homes on the market so they sell fast. The MLS and other real estate professionals who subscribe to the local multiple listing service have the first access to these listings then they syndicate out to various websites where buyers have an opportunity to see them.

We perform our services differently at Flagler Real Estate! Our Agents ensure that the buyers they are working with get the information first. We will provide you with our exclusive hot sheet of listings as they coma available and we also will make sure that you have access to all new listings as soon as they hit the market! You will never miss out on a property because you had to wait to see it when other buyers do.

Personally, I try to satisfy my Sellers by helping them understand the tools and methods that I use to get their house sold. The use of a digital platform also helps drive more Buyers to the homes faster and I get them SOLD! I am a professional Match Maker. I help seller meet buyers!

My goal is to get your house SOLD while meeting Buyers who are in the market for real estate. This allows me to get your home sold and gives me the ability to help my team members. We simply offer to share other listings with Buyers if they are not interested in the current home we have listed. After all, they are looking for real estate…and what sort of REALTOR would I be if I didn’t ask?
